With all of the chemicals, additives, preservatives and hormones which are added during the production of our food, it is absolutely no surprise that more and more people are turning to organic food. I mean honestly, how many of us are not concerned when we hear that our food has any association with pesticides, antibiotics and/or growth hormones. It is really scary to think about the things we unknowingly put into our bodies. Nonetheless, in order to relieve some of this built up tension, a lot of people have turned to organic foods.
With so many developments in various industries, including the weight loss industry where more and more all natural herbal remedies are available (such as the appetite suppressing diet pill known as hoodia gordonii), it is no surprise that more and more people want more nature friendly foods at their local grocery stores. Organic food is overall better for you because it is produced without the use of common pesticides, such as: sewage sludge fertilizers, radiation, bioengineering, and synthetic fertilizers. Furthermore, all of the animal products which are organic come from animals which were not given any growth hormones or antibiotics. With all of these health attributes, you might be asking yourself why more and more people are not eating a solely organic diet.
One reason why more and more people are not consuming more organic foods is the cost. Organic food can cost 50 to 100 percent more than conventionally grown food. Therefore, those of us who wish to eat healthier should expect to spend almost twice as much on their weekly food budget. It is quite expected that healthy food production is more costly; nonetheless, it is something that we have to deal with if we want to eat a healthier diet.
